Joseph Seif is a Los Angeles and San Francisco-based photographer, cinematographer, and composer.
While attending the Global Cinematography Institute in Los Angeles, Joseph trained under legendary directors of photography Vilmos Zsigmond, ASC and Yuri Neyman, ASC. His narrative and television credits include Ground Control, A Day, Henry Miller: Prophet of Desire, The Auditor, Lost Love, and Rebel in Rising. His second feature film, Tellers, was theatrically released in June 2019 and several of the short films he has photographed have been featured on the international festival circuit. His advertising cinematography work has won two Silver Awards at the 2020 American Advertising Awards, and his recent collaborations have won multiple international awards such as "Best Short Film" at the Hollywood Film Competition and "Best Story" at the London Fashion Film Festival.
Joseph's fine art photography book ONWARD can be found in select bookstores such as at the Leica Gallery LA, Leica NY, Hennessey + Ingalls, William Stout Books, and Skylight Books. A collection of personal images taken over the course of 12 years, the book documents the photographic journey that has taken him all over the world and ultimately led to his multi-disciplinary career in San Francisco, Hollywood and beyond.
An ASA-certified sailor and an experienced SCUBA diver, he has most recently used his underwater cinematography skills to film a commercial project with athletes from the USA Olympic swim team. In December 2022, he traveled to Antarctica to photograph an assignment for National Geographic Expeditions.
Joseph is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG Local 600) and is represented by Intrinsic.
